Privacy Policy

How TikHug handles downloader requests, usage data, and privacy.

Last updated: 2026-07-11

Introduction

TikHug provides a browser-based downloader interface for publicly accessible social media URLs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may process when you use the website.

TikHug is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Instagram, Meta, TikTok, or ByteDance.

Information We Process

We keep the service as lightweight as possible. Depending on how the website is configured, we may process:

  1. Submitted URLs — URLs you paste into the downloader so the service can parse publicly accessible media resources.
  2. Usage and diagnostic data — Basic request logs, browser information, timestamps, error messages, and performance data used to operate and protect the service.
  3. Cookies or local storage — Small browser-side records used for preferences, security, analytics, or abuse prevention when enabled.
  4. Contact information — Information you voluntarily provide if you email us or request support.

We do not ask for your Instagram, TikTok, Meta, or ByteDance account password. You should never submit account credentials through TikHug.

How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the downloader interface and return available results for public URLs.
  • Monitor reliability, performance, and abuse.
  • Troubleshoot errors and respond to support requests.
  • Protect the website and users from misuse, automated abuse, malware, and unlawful activity.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Third-Party Services

TikHug may use infrastructure, analytics, security, hosting, or media-parsing providers to operate the service. These providers may process technical data needed to deliver their services.

If a future TikTok module uses TikHub API or another provider, submitted public URLs and technical request data may be sent to that provider solely to parse and return available resources.

Content Ownership

TikHug does not claim ownership over content available through third-party platforms. The rights to Instagram, TikTok, and other platform content remain with their respective owners and rights holders. Users are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights or permissions before downloading or using any content.

Data Retention

We retain logs and diagnostic data only as long as reasonably needed for operation, security, troubleshooting, analytics, or legal compliance. We may delete or aggregate data when it is no longer needed.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information only:

  • With service providers that help us operate the website.
  • To comply with lawful requests or legal obligations.
  • To protect our rights, users, systems, or the public from harm or abuse.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the website. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Choices

You can avoid submitting personal or private information by only pasting public URLs that you have permission to use. You may also configure your browser to limit cookies or tracking technologies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The updated date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
